Every iPhone's light sensor drifts. Two phones one metre apart can read a third of a stop differently. That's enough to push a Velvia frame from punchy to muddy, or undercook a Tri-X portrait by a paper grade.

Every general-purpose meter app ships generic curves that ignore the chip in your hand. Some charge you monthly to do it badly. Most demand a login. None of them know your camera body, your film, or where in the city the sun is.
