Privacy.

The short version. Stop reads light on your phone. Nothing about what you pointed the camera at leaves your device. No analytics, no trackers, no accounts.

Who we are

Stop is made by Bright Loop Media Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. We are based on the Wirral. If you want to reach a human, write to hello@usestop.com.

What we collect

Nothing that leaves your device. Stop reads light through your phone's camera and computes an exposure on the phone itself. Camera frames are never uploaded, stored on a server, or sent to a third party. We run no analytics, no pixels, no advertising scripts. The site sets no cookies.

How the app stores things

Your film stock preference, your last calibration offset, and the loader's first visit gate live in your browser as localStorage and sessionStorage. Only your phone can read them. Clearing your browser data clears them. We never see any of it.

Camera permission

The first time you open the meter the browser asks for camera permission. That prompt is your phone asking, not us. If you say no the meter will not work. You can revoke permission later in your browser settings and the camera stays off.

Google Fonts

We load Fraunces, Geist Mono, and Inter Tight from fonts.googleapis.com. Your IP address is visible to Google for the length of that font request. We are migrating to self hosted fonts so this becomes unnecessary.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You can ask us for a copy of anything we hold about you. You can ask us to correct it, erase it, restrict how we use it, or port it somewhere else. You can object to processing. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. To exercise any of these rights write to hello@usestop.com and we will reply within thirty days. In almost every case our reply will be that we hold nothing on you, because we do not.

ICO registration

Bright Loop Media Ltd is in the process of registering with the Information Commissioner's Office. The registration number will be published here once issued.

Changes

If this page changes the date below moves. There is no version history because the whole page is short enough to read again.
